Regels / Rules

Soleus is een vereniging, gedreven door haar leden, voor haar leden. Naast de privileges zijn er een paar regels die op elk lid van toepassing zijn.

Aangezien onze server bij de vereniging ColoClue zijn ondergebracht, gelden hun regels ook voor de leden van Soleus.

Wat expliciet NIET is toegestaan:

• Alles wat niet toegestaan is volgens de Nederlandse of internationale wetten.
• Het gebruiken van een VPS om spam te verzenden.
• Het verkopen van shell-accounts.
• Het draaien van een eigen, publieke IRC server.
• Het delen van je VPS (hoewel er in sommige gevallen uitzonderingen kunnen worden gemaakt).

Gebruik je verzonde verstand, en hou rekening met het feit dat anderen van dezelfde hosting server en infrastructuur gebruik maken als jijzelf. Hierom willen we je graat attenderen op het volgende:

• Veroorzaak geen overlast en hinder, zowel op het Internet in het algemeen als op de servers van Soleus.
• We zien liever niet dat je controversiele content host, zoals pornografie of extreme websites, o.a. omdat ze onze services kunnen overbelasten.
• Hou je dataverkeer in de gaten. We hebben een 1 Gpbs uplink naar ColoClue, die we met z'n allen delen.

Als we misbruik vermoeden, zal het CoreTeam je VPS direct uitzetten. Dit gebeurt niet vaak, maar in sommige gevallen is het noodzakelijk. Na het uitzetten van de VPS, zal het CoreTeam altijd contact opnemen via email om te bediscussiëren wat er moet worden gedaan om de configuratie aan te passen.

Naast het bovenstaande is de enige limiet je eigen creativiteit. Mocht je ergens over twijfelen, of een vraag hebben, mail dan het CoreTeam, aangezien zij verantwoordelijk zijn voor onze infrastructuur.

Soleus is a community, driven by its members. Besides the privileges there are also some rules that apply to every member.

Our servers are hosted by ColoClue, which is also a community. The rules that apply to them, also apply to the members of Soleus.

What is explicitly NOT allowed:

• Everything that is not allowed by Dutch or international law.
• Using your VPS to send spam.
• Selling shell-accounts.
• Running your own public IRC server.
• Sharing your VPS (although in some cases we can make exceptions).

Use some common sense, and take into account that others also use the same hosting server and infrastructure as you do. For this, we would like to attend the following:

• Don't cause trouble to others, as well on the Internet as on the servers of Soleus.
• We'd rather not see you hosting anything controversial such as pornography or extreme websites since this might overload our services.
• Watch (and monitor) your traffic. We have a 1 Gbps uplink to ColoClue which is shared among all Soleus members.

When we suspect abuse, the CoreTeam will shut down your VPS immediately. This doesn't happen a lot, but in some cases this is necessary. After shutting down your VPS, the CoreTeam will always contact you by e-mail to discuss what you need to change in your configuration.

Besides the above, your only limitation is your own creativity. If you are in doubt or have a question, send an email to the CoreTeam, since they are the ones in charge of our infrastructure.
